Mega Covid-19 vaccination campaign
To make the people of Madurai take full advantage of the Vaccination drive, Voice Trust intensely engaged in the mobile campaign of Covid- 19 vaccination Awareness programs in Primary Health Care Centers, the villages surrounding these PHC’s, Madurai city in places like Bus stand, Railway station, Check post and Post offices. The Mobile Campaign of Covid-19 Awareness Program through the help of 2 autos consisted of Audio units, Literatures for exhibitions and displays. The autos constantly engaged with the general public while on the move, with slogans on Covid-19 Vaccine Awareness and distribution of Leaflets.
The autos mounted with loudspeaker containing educative voice clips regarding Covid-19 Vaccine covered areas of Madurai East Block -36 Villages, & Madurai Main City, Anna Nagar, Shenoy Nagar, KK Nagar, Thepakulam, Goripalayam, Gomathipuram and Vandiyoor, & Surrounding villages with a halt at proposed locations to impart the importance of Covid-19 Vaccine. Around 25000 notices were also distributed in various areas of the city. The objective of this mobile campaign was to disseminate information about vaccination, and the safety rules regarding the prevention of Covid-19 among the general public. Voice Trust also involved community mobilisers and frontline workers to engage with the community at various levels through community consultations, youth engagement, and involvement of civil society organisations (CSOs), self-help groups, Panchayats, and other community-based platforms.
We at Voice Trust along with Vaccinators from Suji Health Care Clinic and student volunteers from Lady Doak College and Solamalai College of Engineering, Madurai arranged by Voice Trust took care of the data entry work during the vaccination camps. To motivate the volunteers, and as a token of appreciation, Participation Certificates with Collectors signature were issued to the volunteers. An overall of over 10000 people got vaccinated through these camps.
