Voice Trust, in collaboration with Ortho Foundation Trust and Suji Healthcare, Madurai, organized an Ortho Screening Camp on 30th November 2024 at Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL), K.Pudur, Madurai, for the benefit of its employees. The camp provided a comprehensive range of health assessments, including BMD (Bone Mineral Density) scans, blood tests for hemoglobin, calcium, and uric acid levels, as well as general health examinations covering height, weight, and blood pressure (BP). In addition, physiotherapy consultations and specialist consultations were offered to address specific health concerns. This initiative aimed to enhance employee well-being by promoting awareness of orthopedic health and preventive care.

The camp offered a range of services, including general health screenings, eye examinations conducted by experts from MMM Eye Care Centre, and specialist consultations provided by Vijaya Hospital’s medical team. Attendees benefited from personalized health advice, free medicines, and referrals for further treatment when needed. This collaborative initiative emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare and showcased the collective commitment of all participating organizations to improving the well-being of the Anaiyur
community.

On 26th November 2024, Madurai Voice Trust, in collaboration with Suji Health Care and Vale Ortho Center, organized a comprehensive Orthopedic Medical Check-up Camp for the employees of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC). The camp was held at the Madurai Pashumalai Office and aimed at addressing the orthopedic health concerns of TNSTC staff, many of whom often face musculoskeletal issues due to the nature of their demanding jobs.

On 27th October 2024, Voice Trust, in partnership with Suji Healthcare, organized a disaster response and medical support initiative in Madurai to assist residents impacted by recent heavy rains during the peak Diwali season. Medical teams from Guru Hospital and Vijay Multispeciality Hospital set up temporary camps in Narimedu and Mullainagar, providing on-the-spot medical consultations, treatments, and essential medicines to affected residents. The initiative aimed to address immediate healthcare needs and raise health and safety awareness among individuals in rain-affected areas. The swift response and dedication of the medical teams brought substantial relief to the community, demonstrating the effectiveness of coordinated action during crises and reinforcing community trust in local healthcare providers.

The health camp, held at the chamber premises on Kamarajar Salai in Madurai, was inaugurated by Mr. M.V. Muthuramalingam, Chairman of Velammal Educational Trust, in the esteemed presence of Dr. N. Jegatheesan, President of the Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other distinguished guests.

The District Tuberculosis Centre (DTC) is the nodal point for tuberculosis (TB) prevention and care activities in the district. An oath was taken by everyone present in the camp to eradicate TB headed by the Medical Officer, District Tuberculosis centre.

Free general medicines were provided with essential medications to address their immediate health needs. Vitamins and syrup were distributed to improve the overall health and well-being of the participants. 127 individuals from the community and target groups (HRGs) took part in the medical camp. On the 12th of Oct 2022, Free Medical Camp and a Beneficiary welfare Scheme were organized at Poonjuthi Village in Madurai District. This program was organized by Mr. Ramanathan, Panchayat President Poonjuthi Village in association with Voice Trust, BenchMark Medical Trust, Harsitha Hospital, Vasan Eye Care Hospital, CSI Dental College, Lady Doak College and Suji Healthcare System Madurai. Free General, Eye, Dental, ENT, and Ortho Checkups were conducted for around 350 people. Free medicines were also provided. 200 shirts, sponsored by Ramraj Cotton were given to daily wage labourers. Sewing machines were provided to the needy. Around 10000 tree saplings were planted. Appreciation prizes were given to the best MGNRES workers.

Weight, Sugar tests, ECG examinations, and Eye examinations were conducted by the medical team of Meenakshi Mission Hospital & Research Center. The event was finally graced by Mr. Ganesan Managing Director, Arasan Aluminum Industries. A total of 146 employees benefitted from this camp.

These Medical camps provide diagnosis, treatment and medication at the patients’ door steps.
The objective of the health camps is toprovide primary health care services including both curative and preventive components through provision of timely screening, diagnosis and treatment on the one hand and awareness generation and counseling on the other to ensure holistic health and well-being. Through these camps referral services are provided to those in need of specialized medical facilities.
