Disaster Management, Health and Hygiene Internship Training Program
Awareness program on “disaster management, health & hygiene, post and pre Covid 19” was conducted to the children of Govt Higher Secondary School Andarkottaram in the presence of Mr. Thennavan, the Head Master of SJGHSS and Dr. T.Mariyappan (Ex. Scientist ICMR). Health & Hygiene awareness were given to the school children of the Govt elementary school in Aandar Kottaram. This awareness program is a method of Social Work, which develops the ability of establishing constructive relationship in the individuals through group activities and to prepare people for social change. Thus the trainees formed group of children with same problem to bring back to the normal state. Around 200 children benefitted through this program.
Practical training were given to the trainees through visit to Mannar Thirumalai Naickar College in Pasumalai, Madurai, where they were exposed to various stalls in the exhibition like, Madhavan Heart care, Life care diagnosis and Surya surgical solutions. The trainees learned about how to do provide treatment for heart patients during First aid and also they learned about the benefits of some equipments used in the hospital sector. Field visit to Gandhigram Rural Institute was conducted, professor of Cooperation, Mr. Manivel explained about aspects of disaster management and also explained phases of disaster and how to be handled and how do we overcome that. Mr. Manzoor, research scholar for Gioinformatics shared relevant information about the various types of landslides, calculations and explained in overall information about landslides.
